Fun and Free Online Games
Game House has a lot of free to play online games. They also have inexpensive games you can purchase, many of them suitable for the whole family. They have both PC and Mac games but be sure to look at system requirements because not all games can be played on all systems.
Pogo has a lot of free games you can play online, but unfortunately they're PC only games.
When they aren't suffering database crashes and broken features, Gaia Online can be a lot of fun. There are a lot of jigsaw puzzles to do, and all sorts of games to play.
Auburnimp and Michael--and a lot of authors they know--are addicted to playing at Dragon Cave which is here. We like it because you can play and it's not time consuming. Unfortunately if your dragons eggs or hatclings don't get enough views they die. Dragon Cave does suffer a lot of crashes and downtime, and sometimes dragons are lost, even adult ones vanish off your scroll from time to time. Michael has lost 6 dragons that way.
Unicreatures is a bit more time consuming, and a lot of fun. Auburnimp and Michael play this one a lot too. Best part of this site is nothing dies if you can't be around for a while and they suffer very few crashes and very little downtime. They update constantly too, so there's always something new coming out. There are special donation pets you can get also, but they're not required for play.
Shadow Tale is an entertaining D&D type game. Kill monsters, gain treasures, go on quests. They've changed the membership type recently. You now buy coins to purchase special and limited edition items, they've lifted the level cap and added a lot more quests. It's played in your browser so there's nothing to download. Michael plays here when he has the time time.
For your amusement, we present the blog about the 'ALOT' a fictional creature. It's a funny blog full of tongue in cheek humor that some of the staff get a big laugh out of and we thought some of our readers might find it as funny as we do. She does numerous funny posts on the blog that are well worth the read.

Lidia Bastianich is the sister of Mario Battali, one of the chef's from Iron Chef America. If you love Italian food but don't know how to make anything but pasta with store bought sauce, why not give one of Lida or Mario's recipes a try?
Speaking of Iron Chef America you can watch episodes that are rebroadcast on the Food Network. This is a favorite show of several staff members and we like to watch new episodes on Sunday nights. You can also try out some of their great recipes.
Not a good cook? Don't know how to do anything with a pot or pan in the kitchen? Never fear, Chef Gordon Ramsey is here! You can watch Gordon cook all sorts of things step-by-step via streaming video on your computer.
Watch TV on the Internet
Miss an episode of a favorite show? Why not look for it at Hulu? They typically have shows up from a few days to a couple of weeks after they air, so no more missing your favorite programs or wondering what happened on an episode you missed. They also have lots of classic TV shows from the 1960s, 1970s and on. They even feature select episodes of several Food Network shows.
Books We Love.
Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern. Coyote introduced us to this book. It's hysterically funny, but filled with 'dirty words' so if you're easily offended by coarse language it's probably not for you. You can follow Justin and his dad on Twitter by clicking here.
