Venice, LA – August 14, 2025 – Captain Troy Wetzel, a pillar of the Venice fishing community with over 25 years of experience, today announced the expansion of his highly-respected charter business to include inshore fishing charters. Previously celebrated for his mastery of offshore and bluewater excursions, Captain Wetzel will now bring his extensive knowledge and passion to the vibrant marshes and bayous of coastal Louisiana.
For over two decades, anglers from around the world have sought out Captain Troy Wetzel for thrilling offshore adventures. Now, they can experience that same level of expertise while targeting Louisiana’s most prized inshore species. The new charters will focus on navigating the rich estuaries of the Venice area in pursuit of aggressive Redfish and trophy Speckled Trout.
The inshore trips will be conducted aboard a brand new 25-foot Blackjack, a vessel perfectly designed for accessing the shallow, fish-filled waters where larger offshore boats cannot venture. These charters maintain the same all-inclusive, high-quality standard that Captain Wetzel’s clients have come to expect. Each trip includes top-of-the-line rods, reels, tackle, bait, and professional fish cleaning services.
“I’ve spent my life on the waters of the Gulf, but there’s a special kind of magic in the marsh,” said Captain Troy Wetzel. “The thrill of seeing a big redfish push a wake towards your lure or feeling that classic speckled trout thump is something every angler should experience. After years of requests, I’m excited to share my passion for our incredible inshore fishery and help create unforgettable memories for our guests.”
The addition of inshore charters positions Captain Troy Wetzel Fishing Charters as the definitive, all-in-one fishing destination in Venice, LA, offering world-class experiences from the backwater marshes to the deep blue sea.
